On 12th January 2003, the first Bare Witness event took place on the Ashdown Forest in the UK. 30 people bared all to spell the word PEACE with their naked bodies. They felt compelled to use the shock of their nude bodies to send a message – this is not the way to put an end to war. They could have stayed at home in the warm and shook their heads at the news – but they came out to be vulnerable for peace.
