Organizers of the January 18, 2003 "No War for Oil" rally in Missoula, Montana, asked participants to stand to form a pre-marked peace symbol as they listened to speakers. The picture was sent on national AP wires and published in The Washington Post on January 19. Participants were asked to wear informational signs on their backs and after speeches to move out into the community (to the mall, Wal-Mart, etc.) wearing the signs to take our message out to those who do not come to peace rallies.
